Our Programs
The Blizzard of Blankets is our oldest project, begun in the fall of 1995. We conduct a public awareness campaign and then, on the Saturday before Thanksgiving, collect new or used blankets in good condition. Donations are collected at The Upper Room of Erie in front of St. Paul’s Church at 1024 Peach Street. Simply pull your vehicle up in front of St. Paul’s Church. Volunteers will come to your vehicle to collect your donations.
The blankets collected are distributed free of charge to those people and agencies in need.

Each year The Upper Room, with help from our corporate sponsors, provides a Christmas meal and gifts for more than 250 of Erie’s poor and homeless. Trees are decorated, carols are sung, and presents are distributed for adults and children who might otherwise not have a Christmas.
